The vines are growing, the waterfalls are flowing, and the monkeys are probably already getting into trouble... because Rainforest Falls VBS 2026 is almost here!

We had an incredible turnout last year, and we're expecting even more adventurers this summer! VBS is one of the highlights of our year, filled with faith, laughter, music, crafts, games, snacks, and plenty of rainforest fun.

�� Volunteers Needed!

This year we're hoping to have 25+ volunteers to help make VBS a success. The good news? There is a place for everyone!

Not everyone is called to spend the morning wrangling energetic kiddos (although we're grateful for those saints among us!). We also need help with decorating, setup, snacks, crafts, registration, photography, cleanup, donations, and behind-the-scenes support.

Whether you can serve all week or help in a smaller way, we'd love to have you on the team.

VBS planning is wonderfully chaotic, and while I do my best to keep track of every conversation, I don't want anyone to accidentally get left off the volunteer list. Filling out the form helps me make sure everyone is included and assigned where they'll shine brightest.

Gardening Angels

As we begin 2026, one of my major goals as Junior Warden this year is to reconfigure our flower garden footprint so that it is more concentrated in certain areas and a smaller space in others. In addition, I would like to re engergize our hands on "Gardening Angel" ministry that was the mainstay of our Church for many years, thanks primarily to Shirley Watts and Anne Penney. Both efforts will not only help keep our Church grounds beautiful, but hopefully reduce the amount of budget dollars needed to maintain our flower beds and lawn. To this end, I am forming a Committee to assist me with this project....new Vestry member Vince Delisi has already volunteered. If you would like to be part of this beautification project, come to the first meeting on Tuesday, January 13, at 9:30 AM in the Library.

Your generosity can make a real difference in someone’s life.

On the last Sunday of the month, all loose plate and undesignated offerings go to the Clergy Discretionary Funds. A Clergy Discretionary Fund—sometimes called a Rector’s or Pastor’s Discretionary Fund—is a special account maintained by many Episcopal parishes to enable clergy to respond pastorally and confidentially to needs within the congregation and the wider community.

Purpose:

The primary purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to individuals or families facing emergency situations, such as help with rent, utilities, groceries, medical bills, or other urgent needs. The fund can also be used to support charitable causes or organizations at the discretion of the clergy.
How it works:
The fund is typically supported by designated gifts from parishioners, special offerings (such as on holidays or at weddings/funerals), or memorial donations.
The clergy person (such as the rector or priest-in-charge) administers the fund, using their judgment to distribute assistance where it is most needed.
The use of the fund is confidential, preserving the dignity of those who receive help.
Parishes maintain records in accordance with diocesan guidelines and financial best practices to ensure accountability.

The Discretionary Fund is a tangible expression of the church’s call to love our neighbors, offering compassion, dignity, and practical help in times of crisis. It allows clergy to respond quickly and pastorally to needs that might otherwise go unmet.
